Wendy Leonard

The words come from Wendy Leonard.

Inducted into The National Press Club in Washington, DC in 1994, Wendy has been a writer and creative consultant for 21 years. The recipient of a Governor's Citation in New York in 1993, Wendy was also honored at a black tie gala event at the National Press Club, twice, as winner of both a 2002 and 2003 National Silver Inkwell Award.

She is nationally recognized as an expert medical writer, and is regularly subcontracted to write nationally distributed medical/educational brochures targeting the lay audience. These 6 to 12 page brochures are provided to hospitals, clinics, and private practices on such topics as: Eczema, Childhood Obesity, Diverticulosis, Ulcerative Colitis, Diabetes, Asthma, Hepatitis, HIV/AIDS, Benign Prostate Hyperplasia, Irritable Bowel Syndrome, Chronic Constipation, Chronic Diarrhea, Androgenic Deficiencies, Kidney Stones, Erectile Dysfunction, Alzheimer's Disease, Parkinson's Disease, Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease and Cancer.

Her portfolio also includes speech writing, financial writing, political writing and advertising copy; and her first screenplay for a feature length film was purchased by Americom at Universal Studios, Florida. Lastly, Wendy enjoyed being the Head Writer for the nationally syndicated television series, Firefighters , which ran from 1992 - 1993.

Meredith Daniels
writer and host

Meredith Daniels is a broadcast journalist who has worked as Newsday's Multimedia Producer/Announcer since September 2002. Meredith's voice can be heard on WALK/97.5 FM in Patchogue, NY as well as on Newsday.com. She also makes guest reporter appearances on Channel 21's program "Act Two with News day." Her duties at Newsday include writing articles for the featuer and business sections of the paper.

Before coming to Newsday, Meredith was a News and Traffic Announcer for Clear Channel stations around New York City. She also worked at ABC-TV as a Producer for the network's NewsOne satellite feed service. When she worked for Metro Networks, she covered dozens of stations in New York and New Jersey. Her first "break" came at WPLJ/95.5 FM where she worked as a Music Researcher and a Producer, and learned what it was like to try start the day at 4:30 a.m. in order to prepare for a hi-profile morning show.

Meredith also dabbles in comedy writing and has written for actor/radio personality Jay Thomas and for the Press Club of Long Island Holiday Show. She also performed in the show for the past three years, playing such characters as Janet Jackson and the Cat in the Hat.

When she's not writing, voicetracking or making a fool of herself she enjoys trips to Long Island's North Fork with her husband, yoga, reading and drinking lattes from Starbucks.
